Technical Services – Systems Administrator - £25,000 - £35,000
We currently have an opening for a Systems Administrator to assist with the operation of our internal and customer facing systems. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person with good technical and communications skills.
The successful candidate will be heavily involved in the day-to-day operation of both our customer facing systems and our internal office systems. Occasional remote site support and site visits will also be required.
In addition, the job holder will be expected to play an active part in the strategic planning of security, systems monitoring and procedures and to take full responsibility for execution of the same.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent planning and organising skills and be self starting. The ability to work without supervision is a key requirement for the role
Primary responsibilities:
- All back-office systems and infrastructure
- Day to day monitoring and maintenance of Changework Now Ltd internal office systems (Windows based).
- Customer-facing infrastructure and application servers
- Day to day monitoring and maintenance of our redundant, load balanced array of servers running on RedHat Linux. These servers are co-located with an ISP and part of the role will involve using and enhancing remote monitoring, alerting and maintenance systems and procedures.
- Day to day monitoring and maintenance of remote servers located at customers sites.
- SLA monitoring and achievement (infrastructure and application/database servers)
- Involvement in strategic planning of updates and improvements in infrastructure
- Involvement in the development of monitoring and alerting tools and strategies
- Licensing and maintenance contracts
Technical skills (on the job training will be provided but preference will be given to candidates based on experience):
- Windows 2000/3 server environment
- Windows XP and Vista desktop environment
- IBM Lotus Domino server and Notes client
- RedHat Linux server
- VPN technologies, Internet and Network Security
- General networking including Enterprise Architecture, WAN, LAN technology
- Disaster Recovery Processes
